An exciting month is in store for the children this December. We will be singing as usual in the local Carol Service, travelling to Belfast for the Christmas panto 'An Fathach Santach' (The Greedy Giant), performing our own Christmas Show for parents and of course, having our Christmas dinner at the school.
We have much to celebrate this Christmas. With full government funding through this month, school meals and transport have started and new equipment and books have been ordered in. The Department's latest computers' sytem, C2K, is currently being installed as you read this. We would like to wish everyone associated with our school community a 'Nollaig Shona' merry Christmas and a happy new year.

Holidays
The school will close for the Christmas break on Tuesday 22nd December and we look forward to seeing you all back on 7th January 2010.
Carol Service
It has become a bit of a tradition for the school to take part in the local carol service in the Holy Family Parish Chapel. This year will be no different with the P3-5 children singing this Sunday, all families are welcome to come along.
Christmas Panto
The children have been very excited since hearing that we will be travelling on Friday 18th December to the Cultúrlann in Belfast to watch the play ‘An Fathach Santach’ (The Selfish Giant). The day will cost £5 per child, travel and ticket included.
Christmas Dinner
Roast Dinner with turkey and ham will be served at this year’s Christmas dinner on Friday 11th December at lunch time in the school.
Charity begins at home
We are collecting for St Vincent de Paul this Christmas. We are looking for cans and packets of food or other goods, which can be left with class teachers. There are collection boxes in each classroom.
Best of luck to Fiachra’s brother, Éanna Ó Donghaile, who has just left Derry on a journey you don’t make everyday. Éanna will be driving an ambulance full of medical equipment bought by money raised by the people of Derry, bound for Gaza. Go n-éirí an bóthar leis! (May the road rise before him!)
Christmas Cheer
We have much to celebrate this Christmas, school meals and transport have begun and with the release of the school budget this month we can now order in books and equipment on a level with other schools in Derry. I would like to thank parents for their support and commitment over the last five years leading up to recognition this year as we look forward to building a bright future for Irish Medium Education in the Ballymagroarty/ Creevagh area.
